Use Iran IP lists with an explicit data and policy model
IPXpert publishes IPv4/IPv6 prefix resources with RIPE Database and LIR allocation context. An organization attribution may come from a direct or enclosing allocation, a manual override or an unresolved record. The source label matters.

Registration is not packet location
A registry-based Iran list is not proof that every address is physically hosted in Iran, currently announced in BGP or reachable from your network. Routing can change independently of allocation records. Use the BGP tool for observations and your own operational checks for reachability.
IPv4 and IPv6 have separate resources. A policy applied to one family does not automatically cover the other. Keep the address-family distinction in your rules and tests.
A safe import workflow
- Choose the actual format for your platform: plain prefix resources, MikroTik address-list scripts, Cisco ACL resources or FortiGate GeoIP override resources. Read that page’s compatibility notes.
- Sign in or use the documented token/registered-IP access method. Plans, feature visibility and download allowances still apply; a file URL is not an authorization bypass.
- Record the dataset/version timestamp and validate the downloaded format and row count. Do not apply an unexpected empty or malformed file.
- Test on a noncritical configuration, review rule order and traffic direction, and keep a known-good configuration for rollback. Check whether update scripts replace or append existing entries before scheduling them.
When the data cannot support a decision
Unresolved attribution is not an invitation to guess a provider. Registry changes, aggregation and policy objectives can produce different totals from another list. Compare sources and definitions before treating a numerical difference as an error.
The published update/version time describes this dataset, not every live BGP observation. The site does not guarantee that a successful server download proves the client saved or applied the file.
